Cam Ward’s latest comments about the Saints are just a big tease for New Orleans fans

Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, New Orleans Saints fans will be delighted to hear what top quarterback prospect Cam Ward had to say about the franchise.

Cam Ward: 'It Would Be a Dream' to Play for Saints 'Someday' amid No. 1 Pick Rumors

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, Cam Ward has separated himself as the top quarterback prospect in the class. It was initially a debate between him and his good friend Shedeur Sanders, but following the Scouting Combine, all the experts have made it clear that there’s a gap between Ward and Sanders.

Beyond establishing himself as QB1, draft analysts are also convinced he’s going to be the No. 1 pick. Whether that’s to the Tennessee Titans, or another team that trades up, Ward’s name is expected to be the first name called when the draft kicks off in late April. That’s why some recent comments from Ward are just one big tease to New Orleans Saints fans who would love for the team to draft him.

The quarterback prospect was recently at the Caesars Superdome, receiving the Manning Award, and he took some time to speak with the media about his combine meeting with the Saints, and how he feels about the franchise in general. Ward explained he had a great meeting with New Orleans, and complimented Kellen Moore’s offensive prowess that helped the Philadelphia Eagles win a Super Bowl.

He then revealed the Saints were one of his favorite teams growing up, expressing how much he loved to watch Drew Brees and Marques Colston. He ended things by saying it’d be a dream to play for New Orleans someday if he gets the chance.

Cam Ward says it’d be a dream to play for the Saints

Sorry to Ward, and Saints fans, but that day is unlikely to come in 2025. The quarterback prospect will likely be long gone by the time New Orleans is on the clock. There have been talks about the Titans possibly trading out of the No. 1 pick, but nine is probably further back than they’d like to go, and that jump would likely cost more than New Orleans is willing to spend.

However, this could be something to remember down the line. If Ward ever becomes a free agent, or a player available for trade, and the Saints still have a need at quarterback, he may be able to fulfill his dream.
