CeeDee Lamb Bluntly Addresses Cowboys' Struggles After Blowout Loss to Lions

Dallas Cowboys star WR CeeDee Lamb offered a candid response to the state of the team after an ugly Week 6 loss.

Everything that could have gone wrong for the Dallas Cowboys in a Week 6 loss to the Detroit Lions did. The 47-9 home trouncing handed down by Dan Campbell’s squad was every bit as ugly as the score looked.

The Cowboys entered the matchup coming off two road victories against the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, with the arrow seemingly pointing upward. That momentum was quickly erased by halftime, with the team trailing 27-6 — and it only got worse.

While it's tough to take a glass-half-full approach heading into a bye week following a 38-point home loss, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb attempted to offer some optimism.

The Cowboys star told the team's official website that the Cowboys would "be fine," but was blunt about the need to find the end zone while in the red zone.

"The bye week most definitely will help," said Lamb. "And things that we've missed on are very small things, and I know I say that every week or that we'll be fine, but I know we will. Again, we just got to capitalize on the small mistakes. We've got to score.

"We've got to score touchdowns in the red zone. We've got to capitalize and continue moving the ball. I feel like there's some good also, but there's a lot more bad areas and we know we've got to fix that."

Lamb also echoed a similar sentiment made by owner Jerry Jones immediately after the loss to the Lions, pointing to the season not being over after six games.

"The season doesn't end in six weeks, I'll say that," Lamb added. "This bye week, we've got to use it to be better. We've got a lot Across the Halls, a lot of meetings, a lot of things we've got to clean up and, when we come back, we're going to be ready to work."

The Cowboys' struggles against the Lions were a headlining story on Monday morning, and rightfully so. Dallas was dominated in every facet of the game, and quarterback Dak Prescott had one of the worst games of his career.

Prescott completed 17-of-33 passes for 178 yards and two interceptions, including another turnover in the red zone. While Lamb had a solid final stat line of seven catches for 89 yards, he was the only Cowboys player with a performance that was even remotely noteworthy.
