CeeDee Lamb Calls Out Cowboys After Micah Parsons Trade Demand

Dallas Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb came to the defense of Micah Parsons following his trade demand on Friday.

Parsons expressed that he no longer wants to play for the Cowboys in an extended post on social media. Dallas and Parsons — who is heading into the final year of his rookie deal — have been in dragged-out talks on a record-setting extension for months. Parsons finally said he’s had enough.

He captioned the post “Thank you Dallas,” before giving more of a behind-the-scenes look at the negotiations.

“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here. I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates,” Parsons said. “I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me. I had purposely stayed quiet in hopes of getting something done.

“Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract. Not one demand has been made by my agent about money years or anything else,” Parsons wrote. “Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.”

CeeDee Lamb Comes to Micah Parsons’ Defense

Parsons is the centerpiece of the Cowboys’ defense and has more than earned a lucrative extension. After his message on social media, Lamb urged the Cowboys to take care of business and put this behind them.

“Never fails dawg,” Lamb said. “Just pay the man, what you owe em. No need for the extra curricular.”

Lamb is no stranger to dragged-out contract talks with the Cowboys. He missed all of training camp last season waiting for his new deal. He eventually inked a four-year, $136 million contract extension in August but admitted that missing training camp was not ideal.

Cowboys Took Public Shots at Micah Parsons

The Cowboys have done themselves no favors with their public comments on Parsons’ situation.

“It doesn’t change anything. We want to pay Micah, too. He’s got to want to be paid, too,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on Friday.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones also took a shot at Parsons — and quarterback Dak Prescott — over missing time last year with an injury.

“Just because we sign him doesn’t mean we’re gonna have him,” Jones said regarding Parsons in July. “He was hurt six games last year. Seriously. I remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two thirds of the year. Dak Prescott. So there’s a lot of things you could think about when you’re — just as the player does — when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”

Parsons has been one of the most productive defenders in the league. He had not missed time before his ankle injury last season.
