The Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with CeeDee Lamb over his contract, and now he explains why he accepted their terms.
In a surprising move, CeeDee Lamb showed he was the ultimate team player for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys and Lamb agreed to restructure his contract to help the Cowboys out.
This move provides the Cowboys with $20 million in cap space ahead of the beginning of free agency. Deferring a lot of earnings to help the team is a big move, one that Cowboys fans will instantly love.
Lamb’s prior contract structure would have seen him earn significantly more money, but he deferred his pay to earn just $14 million this season.
Clearly, there is something at play in Arlington, TX. And CeeDee Lamb basically confirmed as much on social media.

CeeDee Lamb explains salary deferral
Taking to X, CeeDee Lamb had a short but to-the-point rebuttal to a fan asking him why he made the decision to help the Cowboys out.
In Lamb’s own words, he had no problem with agreeing to defer his wages as it helps the Cowboys bring in more players, as they cannot win a championship without some improvements.
Lamb is clearly more focused on maximizing his potential as a player than trying to maximize his income. This type of mentality is what a lot of teams look for in players.
Of course. Lamb has every right to make whatever decision he wants with his contract. But his choice to help the Cowboys sign some reinforcements.
Dez Bryant applauds CeeDee Lamb
Dez Bryant, a former wide receiver for the Cowboys, applauded CeeDee Lamb for taking a new contract structure to try and help the team.
This decision has gone down fabulously among Cowboy fans, as they can be excited about the future of their team.
Jerry Jones must now try and provide the squad with some decent players so they can make a sincere push for the Super Bowl next season.
The NFC East is wildly competitive, and the Eagles, Giants, and Commanders are no sleeping matter for the Cowboys to take lightly. Improving the team now is of paramount importance.
