CeeDee Lamb Sends Powerful Message to Injured Dak Prescott And Cowboys Locker Room

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb is ready to lead from the front, with Dak Prescott done for the year.

The Dallas Cowboys lost Dak Prescott for the season after the Pro Bowler opted to have surgery on his injured hamstring, and for some, that news has ended the team's season.

But with still so much football left to play, the Cowboys, despite being 3-6, aren't out of playoff contention, and that means there's a lot left to play for.

However, not having your franchise quarterback to lead you through the darkness that the Cowboys are currently experiencing means others have to step up and assume that role.

And while Lamb was very frank in his thoughts on Dak being done for the year, he's taking it upon himself to be the locker room leader both on and off the field.

"It sucks, I will say that," Lamb said after a long pause when asked about Prescott's injury. "Unfortunately ... it's very tough, but going out here knowing that I got to still showcase my ability, prove myself to my guys, and uplift everyone that's in the locker room and continue to fight within each and every individual that's out there so just having that effort."

Lamb continued by essentially sending a message to both Dak and his locker room.

"(Dak) just had surgery and we pray for his speedy recovery; we're all thinking about him,'' Lamb said. "But as far as for us, we've got to go out there and compete for him as if he is there - as far as the competitive spirit, the leadership and everything he's expecting. We've got to step up."

That effort will be a fascinating watch.

With the Cowboys, for most football observers, not anywhere close to a playoff team, eyes are already turning to mock drafts and 2025, but there's still plenty of football left to play.

In truth, the season can go one of two ways. The team can adopt Lamb's mentality and fight with everything they have to win football games, or they can look forward to the offseason and go through the motions for the next eight games.

But if CeeDee has anything to do with it, the locker room will continue to fight the fight for their inspirational leader who now is forced to sit on the sidelines and watch his team go through the hardships that he is so good at guiding them through.
