Sunday's reunion with the Dallas Cowboys didn't go according to plan for Dan Quinn.
After spending the last three seasons as Dallas' defensive coordinator, Quinn looks to lead the Washington Commanders to an NFC East title as head coach. Those plans hit a detour when Washington lost a bizarre game at Landover.
Dallas snapped a five-game losing streak with a 34-26 victory over Washington. CeeDee Lamb caught 10 of 12 targets from Cooper Rush for 62 yards.
After the game, Lamb found Quinn on the field. NBC DFW's Pat Doney shared the moment on social media:

Quinn knew containing Lamb was pivotal to Washington winning the division matchup. On Friday, he praised the star wideout's ability to turn short passes into explosive plays.
"I've got all the respect for CeeDee," Quinn said, per the team website. "Like when the player's that good, and you get extra attention, and you're still able to deliver with catches and yards after the catch. And I think that's one of the things that probably you don't know about him."
The Commanders avoided those explosive plays from Lamb, who didn't break a gain of more than 13 yards. Quinn's defense instead allowed a 41-yard reception to Jalen Brooks, a 2023 seventh-round pick who entered the Week 12 matchup with 83 receiving yards this season.
Special teams also derailed the Commanders, who surrendered a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown to KaVontae Turpin. Austin Seibert missed a field goal and two extra points, including the point-after try that would have tied the game after Terry McLaurin scored an 86-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining.
Although Dallas prevailed, last season's No. 5-ranked defense remains less effective without Quinn. All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland made his season debut, but the Cowboys allowed 412 total yards. Jayden Daniels threw for 275 yards and ran for 74 more in what should be his first of many meetings with the division foe.
Quinn's Commanders must shake off a tough loss when playing the Tennessee Titans next weekend. Meanwhile, the Cowboys will host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving.
