Celtics Injury Report vs. Bulls: Kristaps Porzingis update, Sam Hauser, more

The Boston Celtics lost their sixth game of the season on Thursday night, falling to the Chicago Bulls in relatively ugly fashion. That said, they are still the second-best team in the Eastern Conference and have a very comfortable lead over the third and fourth-placed teams. Now, they’re set to play the Bulls for the second straight game.

Celtics' Latest Injury Report Signals Good News for Kristaps

Chicago’s win over the Celtics on Thursday marks their first three-game win streak of the season, as they earned victories over the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets beforehand. Zach LaVine played extremely well, and Ayo Dosunmu had a nice fourth quarter as well.

Here are the injury reports heading into the Celtics’ Sunday night game against the Bulls on December 21.

  • Josh Giddey QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
  • Dalen Terry OUT (knee)

The only Celtics player listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday night is Sam Hauser. He is listed as questionable to play due to low back spasms, an injury that he has been dealing with all season.

Hauser missed a string of games earlier in the season due to his back issues, and he did not play against the Bulls on Thursday night for the same reason. He has previously said that the back problems are an ongoing issue that he will have to monitor and continue to deal with.

Notably, Kristaps Porzingis is nowhere to be found on the injury report. Just two games ago, he exited Boston’s contest against the Washington Wizards due to right heel pain.

He was questionable to play on Thursday against the Bulls, but he ended up suiting up. Now, he’s not on the injury report at all, which is a good sign regarding his health moving forward.

Josh Giddey is questionable to play for the Bulls as he is dealing with an ankle issue. He did not play on Thursday against the Celtics.

The same can be said for Dalen Terry, as he was not active in Boston on Thursday night, either. He has a knee ailment that has been holding him out.
