Coming out of preseason, there are some things that the Chicago Bulls can be positive about. They went a solid 3-2, Lonzo Ball returned and looked good, Matas Buzelis appears to be fearless and a star in the making.
One of the biggest positives was the return of Zach LaVine and his positive performances. He looks back to full health and is still a dynamic scorer, as evident from his 28 points in 22 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is believed that the Bulls have been trying to find a trade partner for LaVine for some time now without much luck. But following his positive preseason, there could certainly be more interest in the two-time All-Star.
In recent weeks, the Los Angeles Lakers are a team who have been repeatedly linked with him. LeBron James and Anthony Davis need some help, and LaVine's scoring ability would be an asset to that team.
At the same time, there are other teams around the league who could do with a player like LaVine.
On TWSN, Matt Shovelson proposed a trade that would see the Charlotte Hornets receive LaVine while the Bulls would get Grant Williams, Josh Green, 2026 1st round pick (top 5 protected) and 2028 1st round pick (unprotected) in return.
Of course, just getting LaVine's contract off the books would be a major boost for the Bulls at this point in time. Also, Grant Williams, a 22nd overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft, has been putting up career-best numbers in multiple areas since his move to the Hornets. Green is 23 and has room for growth too, and would fit the Bulls' rebuild timeline.
