Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is going to be busy on Friday.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Spagnuolo will interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Jets. All three interviews will be conducted virtually since the Chiefs have a playoff game to prepare for next week.
Spagnuolo has been the Chiefs' defensive coordinator since 2019 and has helped them win three Super Bowls. He's one of the best defensive coordinators in the league.
Before landing with the Chiefs, he was the interim head coach for the New York Giants in 2017 along with their defensive coordinator (2015-17).
He was the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams from 2009-11, compiling a 10-38 record. Even though it's been a long time since he's been a full-time head coach, he's still itching to get another crack at the gig.
After he does these three interviews, he'll get back to preparing his defense for the divisional round. The Chiefs have a bye this week since they got the top seed in the AFC thanks to a 15-2 record.
They've won two Super Bowls in a row and are looking to make NFL history as they go for a three-peat. No team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row.
The Jaguars are looking for a new head coach after they fired Doug Pederson this week, and ditto with the Raiders who fired Antonio Pierce on Wednesday. Pierce only lasted one year with the Raiders while Pederson was with the Jaguars for three.
The Jets fired Robert Saleh during the season to try and spark the rest of the team but it didn't work out. They finished with a 5-12 record and have a lot of tough decisions looming.
