It is becoming clear that the 2025 NFL season could be Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's last.
Set to be 36 this year, the future Hall of Famer was thought to be leaning towards retirement this offseason, before making the call to come back for one more go around.
But with Kelce winding down from a production standpoint, the Chiefs in 2026 won't want to be left without a solid replacement to step into his role. Jared Wiley is one option, and he will be entering his second season, but what about in the draft?
ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., in his latest mock draft, has the Chiefs taking tight end Harold Fannin Jr.
"Fannin led the nation in receiving last season with 1,555 yards," Kiper Jr. wrote. "Kansas City could use him in a multitude of ways, and he could even develop into Travis Kelce's eventual replacement."
Possessing speed and hands that rarely drop the football, Hannin Jr. is a little rough around the edges in his overall game, but having Kelce to learn from for 12 months could be just the tonic for him to take his game to another level in 2026.
Not seen as a blocking tight end, so Andy Reid would likely be using him purely as a pass-catching option, and in an offense that has a lot of them, perhaps he might split reps with Kelce as the season goes on.
Yes, the offensive line and running back positions need some more juice, but thinking about Kelce's eventual replacement should be on the to-do list as well.
