Leo Chenal expressed his gratitude to a fellow Kansas City Chiefs player whom he really looks up to.
The 24-year-old linebacker is just in his third season with the team, but he has been steadily making a name for himself with his significant contributions to the Chiefs every week.
As Kansas City fans would know, it was Chenal who saved the Chiefs from the verge of defeat after his clutch field goal block on the Denver Broncos' potential game-winner in Week 10.
Following his heroics, Chenal opened up about his journey with the Chiefs so far and named the player who has made a huge impact on him and whom he really admires
In a post shared on the Chiefs' official Instagram, Chenal was asked which teammate he looked up to the most. Without a second thought, the former Wisconsin football star mentioned Travis Kelce's name.
Describing Kelce as a “great mentor,” Chenal revealed how the star tight end set a great example for him.
“His caliber could easily slack off or be a bad example, but he has always been there for me mentally—game days, practice, OTAs, anytime,” Chenal said.
Chenal also highlighted Kelce's positive energy, describing him as the team's ultimate “hype man.”
It definitely looks like Travis Kelce has made quite the positive impression on his teammate. In fact, after his game-winning play on Sunday, Leo Chenal asked for a game-worn jersey from the nine-time Pro Bowler.
The Chiefs are set to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 11 on Sunday. Sure enough, plenty of eyes will be on Chenal again as fans hope to see another big-time play from him. Perhaps Kelce will be able to set an example with a monster performance of his own.
