Travis Kelce has addressed questions about whether his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, will attend the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Houston Texans, with many speculating that her presence has become a secret weapon for the team’s success.
As the Chiefs prepare for their first game of the NFL playoffs this weekend, the veteran tight end dropped a hint about what fans can expect.
During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kelce seems to confirm that the pop star will be at the Saturday afternoon matchup.
“Is there going to be an aura in that place, a little extra, you know what we’re talking about?” McAfee asked the NFL star, to which he responded, “Oh, yeah, you know it, baby, it’s playoff football, man.”
Moreover, Kelce also referenced Swift by mentioning a line from her hit song “22.”
“I’m fired up, man,” he said to the host, adding, “I’m feeling 22 all over again, baby. Let’s go!”
In addition to confirming the "Bad Blood" singer's attendance at the upcoming Chiefs game, McAfee also highlighted the team's impressive record whenever the Grammy winner watches their game live.
“Hey, is she undefeated?” he said. “She rolls into that stadium, I just want to let you know what live bettors do. They see her walk into that stadium and immediately open the phone, like, ‘Yup, Chiefs are about to win.’ That is just literally the feel.”
The Chiefs finished the 2024 season with a 15-2 record, allowing them to claim the top spot in the AFC.
On the other hand, beyond being a lucky charm for the team, Taylor Swift’s presence has sparked a surge in viewership and made a massive impact on the NFL.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, experts have coined the term “Swift bump” to describe the phenomenon, which has resulted in a 20 percent increase in sponsorships.
Additionally, viewership among teenage girls has soared by 53 percent.
