For the early part of the offseason, many were unsure whether Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce would play on in 2025, with his relationship with Taylor Swift thought to be his focus.
After all, Kelce has accomplished everything there is to in the NFL, and walking away after last year to focus on his relationship with Swift felt like the right move. But Travis is returning for a 13th NFL season, and the downtime he has spent with Taylor this offseason has reportedly helped him with what retirement could look like.
A source spoke to the Daily Mail and stated that Kelce will be going all in this upcoming season, with an eye toward retiring with Taylor by his side.
“With all this free time with Taylor and all this travel they are doing together, it is getting Travis to learn what retirement will be like,” the source said. “He is loving this time with Taylor, and he is very happy it is all going well because this is what he will be dealing with after his playing days are over.
“Travis is going to go all in on this [next] season, as he expects it to be his last. He wants to retire as a Chief... and his contract is up after this year. [So] his current idea is to hang it up after this season.”
In truth, many could have seen this clearly coming from a mile away, given how close it seemed Kelce was to hanging up the cleats last season, it now makes sense.
With his relationship with Swift past the turbulent time of a few months ago, the pair are now beginning to step out into the public space after reportedly being told to lay low after the Super Bowl booing incident.
The couple took time away, and a vacation out of the country was on the to-do list, and it is here where Kelce, per the Daily Mail, got a feel for what retirement could look like.
It feels like we have one more NFL season of Travis before he turns the page and begins the next chapter of his life with Swift.
