He finished the game with 281 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, his best game of the year, by far.
This was a vintage performance from Rodgers, and fans and analysts around the league took note.
Chris Simms was a big advocate for Rodgers during this game, giving him high praise on X.
Simms admitted that the West Coast offense isn’t his favorite style of play, but he was pleasantly surprised with the way Rodgers conducted himself in the system.
He also called Rodgers’ timing “Awesome like 80s Niners,” which is a massive compliment.
The San Francisco 49ers were one of the best teams in the NFL in the 1980s, having one of the most dominant rosters in the league.
They are still talked about to this day, and to be compared to them is a big deal.
One game doesn’t necessarily mean that Rodgers is back in full force, but his performance certainly showcased that he still has some fighting spirit left in him, which is exactly what fans want to see.
