Cincinnati Bengals Last in Key Fourth-Down Metric Over Past Few Seasons

   

 The Bengals are the worst offense in the NFL when put in 4th & 1 scenarios. Warren Sharp dropped the numbers for those conversions since the 2021 season and Cincinnati is 32nd, converting those plays into a first down just 42% of the time.

Running the ball in short yardage has been a big issue in Zac Taylor's offense, and this is another notch in that belt. Cincinnati should leave the wonky short-yardage stuff in the playbook.

Sharp noted that QB sneaks have the highest conversion rate on 4th & 1 on any play. Cincinnati could stand to spam that play type in this situation more often.
