After a season marked by challenges, the Cincinnati Bengals are making strategic moves to maintain their competitive edge.

Following their 2024 campaign, which saw them fail to put together a deep playoff run and fall short of the Super Bowl, the Bengals are determined to keep building their team rather than losing key players.

The team's front office's main priority is to create depth of squad and not lose what they have built over the years and that saw them reach the Super Bowl.

That's why the Bengals have re-signed tight end Cam Grandy to a one-year contract extension for the 2025 season.

Grandy, who joined the Bengals as an undrafted free agent from Illinois State last year, has shown promise and contributed to the team's depth at the tight end position.

His extension ensures that the Bengals maintain a solid lineup of tight ends for the upcoming season.

In his rookie season, Grandy appeared in eight games and made six starts. He recorded five catches for 28 yards, showcasing his potential as a reliable option in the passing game.

His primary role has been as an inline blocker, where he has performed admirably. Pro Football Focus graded him out at 65.6, making him one of the higher-rated rookie tight ends in the league.

With Drew Sample, Erick All, and Tanner McLachlan already on the roster, Grandy's re-signing adds valuable depth to the position.

The Bengals are also looking to the future, as Mike Gesicki and Tanner Hudson are set to become free agents in March. Grandy's extension provides stability and allows the team to focus on other areas of need in the offseason.
