CJ Stroud finally gets what he deserves in a new 2025 NFL mock draft by the Texans trying to fix a mistake from the offseason

The Houston Texans' approach to addressing their offensive line this offseason has been one of the oddest decisions by any team in the NFL.

On paper, a unit that struggled tremendously last season looks like it's gotten even worse. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has the Texans taking the first step toward fixing that mistake.

Texans land Alabama star guard Tyler Booker in a new 2025 NFL mock draft

"Tyler Booker has long been the consensus number one overall true interior offensive lineman in the 2025 NFL Draft class. His physicality, mobility for his size, and understanding of proper hand technique and leverage make him perhaps the best offensive lineman regardless of position in the class. The only reason he might make it to pick 25 is that he projects purely to play along the interior. The Texans just set fire to their offensive line this offseason, so taking the most talented remaining player in the trenches is definitely a good idea."

For some reason, the Texans decided they should move on from their best offensive lineman in Laremy Tunsil after seeing the poor play from the group as a whole derail a good portion of CJ Stroud's second season. This puzzling move makes the offensive line even a more important target for the 2025 NFL Draft.

One of the top options in the class is Alabama guard Tyler Booker. His film in 2024 is arguably the best of any linemen in this year's class. He was dominant for the Crimson Tide and projects as a day-one starting guard at the next level. And if you ask me, he has All-Pro potential. If the Texans could land Booker and slide him into their starting lineup, it would give the offensive line a significantly more positive outlook than they currently have. It wouldn't completely fix the unit, but it would be a significant step in the right direction. It's the move the Texans need to consider to prioritize the development of CJ Stroud, and to be frank, it's the move Stroud deserves as the team's franchise QB.
