Cleveland Browns Re-Sign Linebacker Devin Bush On 1-Year Deal

The Cleveland Browns re-signed Linebacker Devin Bush to a 1-year$3.25 million deal on Tuesday evening. He is coming off a solid season with the Browns. He finished with 76 tackles and 1 sack. Bush was one of the best linebackers last season according to PFF. He was 16th overall at the position. Bush was also 13th in pass rush and 12th at defending the run.

Cleveland Browns Re-Sign Linebacker Devin Bush On 1-Year Deal

Bush has been a solid player since he was drafted No. 10 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Pittsburgh before spending 2023 with the Seattle Seahawks. The 2024-25 season was Bush’s first with the Cleveland Browns. Will the veteran linebacker be able to raise his level in 2025?

Cleveland Browns Offseason Outlook

Bush returns to a Browns defense that will include superstar Defensive End Myles Garrett. He rescinded his trade request and was rewarded as the highest-paid non-QB in league history. Cleveland also bolstered its defense by signing Linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka earlier today.

Cleveland’s defense was mediocre. They were 12th against the pass and 21st against the run. Bush will look to improve Cleveland’s defense during his second year in the system.

Final Thoughts

Cleveland has done well this offseason improving its defense. That is a smart move. Their offense has many questions heading into the 2025 campaign. Even though they traded for Quarterback Kenny Pickett on Monday, it remains unclear what their plan is for that position. If the Cleveland Browns are to be competitive, they will need to rely on their defense.
