The Washington Commanders will look to officially clinch a spot in the 2024 playoffs when they host the Atlanta Falcons for "Sunday Night Football." Ahead of the pivotal matchup, both teams have released their inactives.
Earlier in the week, the Commanders ruled out star cornerback Marshon Lattimore (hamstring), receiver Dyami Brown (hamstring), linebacker Jordan Magee (hamstring) and tackle Andrew Wylie (groin). Being without Lattimore, who the Commanders acquired at the trade deadline, will be a big loss against the Falcons' explosive receivers.
On Saturday, Washington activated Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen from injured reserve, and although he's officially listed as questionable, he's expected to be out there on Sunday night, which is a huge pickup as the Commanders' defense will look to contain star running back Bijan Robinson.
Aside from Allen, linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. is questionable with a groin injury while backup quarterback Marcus Mariota is also questionable after missing practice all week with a personal matter.
Meanwhile, the Falcons will enter the matchup relatively healthy. They ruled out cornerbacks Kevin King and Antonio Hamilton for the matchup with a concussion and a quad injury, respectively. Aside from King and Hamilton, nobody else on the Falcons' 53-man roster will enter the game with an injury designation.
Rather than facing former Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Commanders will be taking on rookie Michael Penix Jr., who will be making his second-career start as the Falcons also make a late-season playoff push.
