The Washington Commanders' season has been successful, and we haven't even finished the year yet.
Sitting at 11-5 with one game left in the regular season and a playoff spot already locked up, the good vibes are flowing in the nation's capital. But there's more good news on the way.
It is at this time of year that the Pro Bowl selections are announced, and the Commanders have Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin named in what is a big feather in the cap of both.
"I mean, it's a team sport, DQ [Dan Quinn] brought that up, everybody's attached to everybody else,” offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said. “It's a great compliment of those guys in their work. I think how they prepare and just how they show up every day, they're two of the premier players and people in the NFL, so it's cool to see them get recognized.”
Both have been instrumental in Washington's success this season, and the pair will be looked upon in the playoffs to help lead the franchise.
Daniels has had a good first NFL season, throwing for 3,530 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while rushing for 864 yards and six touchdowns.
Then there's McLaurin. He's a beacon of consistency to whoever is throwing him the football, and it is the fifth consecutive season he's surpassed 1,000 receiving yards. Through 16 games, Terry has 1,034 yards and a career-high 12 receiving touchdowns to cement his status as the true WR1 for Daniels.
While the Commanders have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks, having two special players, Daniels and McLaurin, recognized for their brilliant work this season is good for the soul.
