Commanders Duo Jayden Daniels And Terry McLaurin Dealing With Contract Dispute: 'Nothing's Changed'

The Washington Commanders' contract saga with Terry McLaurin shows no signs of getting finalized, and after a holdout from the star receiver, he's now a holdout at training camp.

With Jayden Daniels and McLaurin developing good chemistry last season, the hope was that the pair would continue to do that this offseason, but with no contract, Terry isn't on the field.

Yes, he's now taking part in meetings and everything in between, but as far as getting crucial reps on the field, yeah, that's not happening, and while Daniels knows they are important, there are other ways the pair can get closer.

"I think it's super important for everybody, just get as many rests as possible before the big show, the real thing is to happen," Daniels said. "But I know the time will come, and until then, I mean, if that's us getting in the film room and watching film and just talking, that's other ways we could do it. But I mean, nothing's changed since Terry's been back in the building. When he's out of the building, we always talk, we talk ball, talk life, so nothing's changed at all."

We have seen how holdouts can impact a team, and especially for the player, and while McLaurin is in meetings, there's no conditioning with live reps going on and banking those reps from a mental standpoint.

Yes, there is previous chemistry with Daniels, but can the duo really rely on what they did last season to propel them forward in 2025? Until Terry's contract situation is sorted out, they might have to.

It is clear McLaurin wants to stay a Commander, but Washington wants him to stay at the price it wants, not what Terry wants.

And the offense might be the biggest loser from this standoff in 2025.
