Commanders' Maintaining Status Quo 'Best-Case' Scenario In 2025

The Washington Commanders must now stay at the high level they performed at in 2024.

The 2024 season for the Washington Commanders was one no one saw coming, and likely not even Dan Quinn.

A 12-5 season, and an NFC Championship game appearance just 12 months after a 4-13 year, that is quite the leap. Granted, many factors contributed to it, like the play of Jayden Daniels.

Several veterans like Bobby Wagner and Zach Ertz also stepped up, and with Quinn's culture being instilled, the Commanders weren't going to be denied.

But now, as we turn toward the 2025 season, some think Super Bowl is the target for Washington, but for Sam Monson, in speaking on the Check the Mic podcast, the Commanders staying the exact same might not be the worst thing.

“I think realistically, if they were able to basically repeat what they did a year ago and not take a step backwards, and just look like one of the best teams again, that would be that that feels to me like their best-case scenario,” Monson said.

So, another 12-ish win season, playoff football (maybe a win or two), and Daniels and the roster playing to a reasonably high level would mean a best-case scenario?

We'll buy that.

We have seen teams fall off a cliff after one good season, and the Commanders won't want to be another cautionary tale, and we don't think Quinn would let the standards drop after one season.

The foundation has already been built, and we've seen good results already, so Washington winning double-digit games and making the playoffs would be another sign that this new regime has the franchise on the right track.
