Commanders 'Most-Fascinating' Receivers Ranking Has One Major Question Mark

The Washington Commanders will enter the 2025 season with genuine Super Bowl aspirations following the franchise's accomplishments in 2024.

But will they have the offense to do it?

Commanders 'Most-Fascinating' Receivers Ranking Has One Major Question Mark

Yes, that sounds odd given the weapons already at Jayden Daniels' disposal, and then we add Deebo Samuel to the mix, but it appears that some are a little skeptical of what Samuel can be for this offense in 2025.

One such person is NFL on CBS' Kyle Long, who, with the help of Mike Renner, put all 32 teams' pass-catchers into tiers, with Washington being put into the "C" tier.

And there's a big question on Washington's high-profile offseason acquisition.

"Commanders, look, what version of Deebo shows up? Because if Deebo shows up in great shape, this offense is going to hum," Long said. "And we know Jayden Daniels is going to show up ready. Terry McLaurin, a lot of questions about his contract in Washington, but I think he stays put. This is just one of those situations you don't jump ship from."

Much has been made of Samuel's appearance, shall we say, and yes, it is the offseason, so plenty can change once training camp begins, but there's no doubting his ability on the field.

Plus, Terry McLaurin's contract situation isn't ideal, but we think the Commanders wouldn't have gone "all-in" this offseason only to let then their star player leave.

Scary Terry and Deebo alone make this room maybe the NFL's most fascinating, in terms of receiver storylines. Beyond that ...

But after Deebo and McLaurin, it is Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, and Michael Gallup. Is that group enough for Washington to make it back to the NFC Championship game?

Time will tell.
