Commanders Move Past Desperate NFC East Rival’s Issues

The Washington Commanders should look at the New York Giants' QB issues and be thankful they no longer have that problem.

"Thank goodness for Jayden Daniels."

That's what Washington Commander fans have been saying now for the last year.

Not only did the team find their franchise quarterback with 2024’s second overall pick, but they even reached the Conference Championship game in his very first season.

Commanders fans have celebrated the arrival of their star quarterback. But it's also a way for fans to understand and appreciate that life was much different just a couple of years ago.

And the New York Giants are arguably the best example for Washington fans to see how things could be so much worse.

With the Giants signing of Jameis Winston, New York is currently going into the 2025 Draft with Winston and Tommy DeVito as their quarterbacks. Many analysts expect the G-Men to also go after Russell Wilson at some point this offseason as well along with whoever they draft with the third overall pick (people suggest Shedeur Sanders). A Giants quarterback room of Winston, DeVito, Wilson, and Sanders isn't a room that many should fear at this point in the offseason. For the Commanders, it's a reminder that they are much better off now compared to their bitter division rivals.

It could also be considered a warning.

Over the last two decades, it was Washington who struggled to find a solution to their quarterback room while the Giants relied on a top overall quarterback in Eli Manning. While Manning's career is highly controversial, he still won two titles with New York.

Nothing less will be expected of Daniels. Especially after his historic run last season.
