Commanders’ Offense Ranking Revealed as a Top Unit Entering 2025

The Washington Commanders‘ offensive revolution was the result of hitting a home run in the NFL Draft when they selected QB Jayden Daniels at No. 2 overall last year. The real question entering the 2025 NFL season is whether or not Daniels can take this offense to new heights in his second year?

Well, one NFL analyst believes the Commanders are a top 10 offense entering the season because of their star quarterback.

Jayden Daniels Aids Commanders’ Top 10 Offensive Ranking from PFSN

Kyle Soppe of Pro Football & Sports Network thought the arrival of quarterback Jayden Daniels was so significant that he decided to create a new timetable for Commanders’ fans when ranking this offense sixth overall entering the 2025 NFL season.

Soppe wrote, “I don’t want to overstep boundaries, but in the same way some religions have marked times of significant change, this Washington Commanders franchise might see this decade measured in B.D. and A.D.”

Honestly, can you blame Soppe for being this excited about Daniels?

Daniels was nothing short of electric in his first season in the NFL with 3,568 passing yards to go with 25 scores through the air with just nine interceptions. It almost feels difficult to call it a rookie season because Daniels looked nothing like a rookie in 2024.

Soppe added, “The Before Jayden Daniels era was grim, posting underwhelming Offense+ grades of 69.0, 65.9, and 64.7 from 2021-23, but all of that changed with the explosive QB at the controls (2024: 86.6).”

When you factor in Daniels leading the team in rushing with 891 yards on just 148 carries, then it becomes even easier to get excited about what the ceiling could look like for the Heisman Trophy winner from LSU moving forward.

Soppe concluded, “As he develops consistency and Washington embraces a win-now philosophy that seemed like a pipe dream 12 months ago, there’s room for the Commanders to sustain their rapid improvement and flirt with the top spot in these rankings.”

Terry McLaurin continues to be one of the most underrated receivers in the league after posting his fifth straight 1,000 yard season, which is probably why he wants a new deal ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Still, McLaurin’s 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns helped stabilize an otherwise uninspiring receiver room for Daniels in 2024.

The collection of returning veterans — which consists of Brian Robinson Jr., Austin Ekeler, and Zach Ertz — feel like high-floor players that can be relied upon to perform at a competent level entering 2025.

The team hopes young players like Josh Conerly Jr., Ben Sinnott, Luke McCaffrey, and Jacory Crosky-Merritt can contribute to the offense to help accelerate Daniels’ development in year two under center.

How Much Will the Additions of Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil Elevate This Offense in 2025?

The reason the Commanders likely felt compelled to acquire both Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel via trade this offseason is because they see a win-now window with Daniels entering 2025.

Tunsil is a solid addition along the offensive line and Samuel is a YAC creator who compliments McLaurin’s skill set perfectly in this Kliff Kingsbury scheme.

If both of these veterans can return to their Pro Bowl form with Washington, then this offense could truly become elite in 2025.
