Commanders Playoff Upset Chance vs. Eagles Made Perfectly Clear

The Washington Commanders kept the good vibes rolling with a stunning 45-31 win over the No. 1 seed Detroit Lions at Ford Field, and now attention turns to the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Commanders Playoff Upset Chance vs. Eagles Made Perfectly Clear

With Jayden Daniels leading his team to the NFC Championship game, for some, the Commanders are playing with house money as no one expected them to get this far, but head coach Dan Quinn says that logic doesn't resonate with his team.

Washington is very confident right now, being on a seven-game winning streak, and with Daniels and the offense putting up points for fun, CBS Sports thinks the Commanders are a perfectly clear threat to upset the Eagles.

"The Commanders beat the high-powered Lions in Detroit, because Jayden Daniels has played like a top-five quarterback all year. Daniels and the offense can score against the Eagles defense, enough to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia," CBS Sports writes. "Washington can beat the Eagles in Philadelphia with the way the Commanders are playing. They are a very confident team."

The season series is tied at 1-1, and both were one-score games.

Washington committed five turnovers in the 36-33 win in Week 16, while the Eagles easily accounted for the Commanders in Week 11 with a 26-18 win.

So both have beaten the other before, but now it's for all the marbles. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles' offense haven't been stellar by any means, with Saquon Barkley the major threat to Washington, so stop him, and the Commanders are halfway there. Although not many have managed to do it this season, Barkley had rushing totals of 150 and 146 against Washington this year.

Yes, the Eagles are at home and the favorites. But remember, so, too, were the Lions.
