Cooper Rush has officially bid farewell to the Dallas Cowboys. This came in the form of a heartfelt parting message on Instagram, which the 31-year-old quarterback posted on Wednesday.
Rush said his goodbyes after putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Baltimore Ravens, where he will come in to back up two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. According to reports, Rush's contract with the Ravens is for two years and has a maximum value of $12.2 million.
Rush thanked Dallas as he reflected on his unforgettable eight-year journey with the Cowboys.
"From an undrafted rookie wearing #7 to an eight year veteran wearing #10, I appreciated every moment in a Cowboys uniform," Rush wrote. "Thank you Dallas for all of the love that you showed to me and family. I’m excited for the next chapter but forever grateful for the first one."
Cowboys fans quickly reacted to the post as they shared their reactions to Rush's message. The supporters were sad to see him go, but they also wished him luck for the next chapter in his career.
This was pretty much the same message Rush's now-former Cowboys teammates had as they, too, reacted to the former Central Michigan standout's heartfelt farewell.
"One of them!!🙏🏾💙" commented two-time Pro Bowl offensive linesman Tyler Smith.
"Love man 🥲" said wide receiver Jalen Brooks.
"🖤🖤" wrote QB Trey Lance.
"😭 love bro!!!" center Brock Hoffman posted.
"Preciate u Coop💙🤞🏽" wrote wideout Jalen Cropper.
"My brotha! 💯" declared linebacker Buddy Johnson.
"Blessings bro!!" wished former Dallas safety Kavon Frazier.
"🖤" OL Asim Richards posted.
"👑" veteran defensive back C.J. Goodwin wrote.
"Love coop‼️💙" WR Ryan Flournoy said.
"🫡🥹" tackle Dakoda Shepley added.
There's clearly a lot of love for Rush from his former teammates, which speaks volumes about the type of person this man is.
