It’s no secret that the Tampa Bay Lightning are interested in creating a scary front line to attack opponents next season. That’s been their focus of the offseason and reports are now coming out that they are showing interest in a top scorer in the league.

According to The Fourth Period, the Lightning are showing interest and could be a club that makes sense to sign Vancouver Canucks right wing, Brock Boeser.

The 28-year old from Burnsville, Minnesota becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and it is being reported that he is looking for a change of scenery. If Vancouver fails to re-sign him to a new contract prior to next Tuesday, Boeser could be a player the Lightning pursue more to add to their top six up front.

In 75 games with the Canucks in 2024-25, the right-handed Boeser scored 25 goals, had 25 assists, earned 50 points, and was -25 on the season. He had nine power play goals and averaged 18:10 on the ice per game.

Boeser is a physical and strong player that is known for his exceptional shooting skills, including strength and accuracy when he shoots and being able to create scoring chances. He is also effective near the goal, including when it is jammed up with defenders.

Boeser is a top-six forward in the league and top six scoring winger.

The Lightning are not the only team on the market for Boeser. Los Angeles, Minnesota, Anaheim, Buffalo, Chicago, Nashville, and Detroit are all showing interest in the star forward. Minnesota appear to be a current frontrunner as Boeser is from the area and has had discussions with the Wild leading into free agency.

However, the Lightning are a team that could use the offensive help and could be aggressive in their pursuit of the Canucks star to help their give their offense a scoring weapon.
