In recent years, Mike Tyson has become synonymous with the marijuana industry. In an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show, the former heavyweight champion said he may take those high spirits into the boxing ring.
When speaking to the talk show host ahead of his November bout against Jake Paul, Mike Tyson admitted that he might partake before the opening bell.
“Will you be high when you fight Jake Paul?” Kimmel asked.
“I’m gonna be so high off life, yeah,” Mike Tyson replied.
“Will you be high on marijuana, as well?” Kimmel bluntly retorted.
“That’s a possibility too,” Mike Tyson admitted.
As far as what place weed has had during training, Tyson said that he “has smoked but not anytime soon.”
In 2018, “Iron Mike” began a 40-acre marijuana growth operation. His business interests have expanded since with his “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast and Tyson 2.0 brand.
The Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation may not be too enthusiastic about this development.

Talk of a near 60-year-old fighting while high, won’t alleviate any reservations about the controversial matchup. But Tyson isn’t worried about the critics. He promised to beat the 27-year-old “very badly” after saying he doesn’t feel his age.
“I don’t look at myself as a middle aged man. Well listen, none of us really know how old we are…What I’m saying is ‘I feel really good,’” he told Kimmel.
He may be feeling good right now, but in May an ulcer flare-up forced Tyson to withdraw from the original July fight date. Just last week, he told USA Today that “it’s hard to walk right now.”
Still, the man considered by many as one of the greatest boxers of all time likes his chances against the YouTuber. “I started Jake Paul off,” Tyson confidently stated referring to his undercard co-main appearance on the 2020 Roy Jones Jr exhibition.
“I’m going to finish him…I like him but in this particular fight, he has to go.”
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul meet on Nov 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will air live on Netflix.
