Cowboys called top option to land 34-year-old Pro Bowler

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of cap space left to make a move.

Dallas currently is 3-3 and could end up using a boost on offense. The Cowboys are in third place in the NFC East and are coming off their worst loss of the season after falling against the Detroit Lions in Week 6, 47-9.

The Cowboys are currently on their bye week and now have an opportunity to let out a breather and regroup.

Dallas has plenty of talent and should be able to get back on track. The Cowboys have some star talent on both sides of the ball, but it wouldn't hurt to add more depth to the offense. The running back position has had some question marks this season, and because of this, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox floated Latavius Murray as a fit.

"With Kareem Hunt landing with the Kansas City Chiefs—and quickly earning a significant role—the running back market lacks starting-caliber talent," Knox said. "However, longtime NFL veteran Latavius Murray is out there and waiting to help an offense...

"Murray has bounced around the NFL in recent seasons but has remained a quality contributor at every stop. He appeared in 16 games for the Buffalo Bills last season and recorded 300 rushing yards, 119 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. If there's a team that could afford to take a chance on such an experienced veteran, it's the Dallas Cowboys. They rank dead-last in both yards per carry and rushing yards this season, and their plan to rekindle Ezekiel Elliott's career hasn't worked."

At this point, why not take a chance on Murray? Things haven't worked out for the Cowboys this season. They do have Dalvin Cook on the practice squad. Maybe the time is now to give Cook a shot or someone like Murray.
