Cowboys Dak Prescott Contract Predicted To Mean $300 Million Change for Bills Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills are gearing up to face the Denver Broncos, and Josh Allen's team knows what's at stake at Highmark Stadium. And those who are aware of how QBs contracts work? There's something at stake there, too.

After a dominant regular season, playoff football has arrived for Josh Allen and Sean McDermott and his Buffalo Bills.

With Sean Payton's Denver Broncos rolling into Highmark Stadium trying to cause what would be an upset win, the Bills know that they will be coming up against a seriously tough team.

But that is playoff football, and nothing is given. Every yard will be hard-earned, and the Bills are no strangers to playing tough, physical football, and that will be what's required on Sunday.

Nothing is bigger than wins. For most, the 2024 version of the Bills, which very well could have MVP winner Josh Allen at the helm, have a great chance to finally break through in the postseason, having been to only one AFC Championship game under No. 17's leadership.

But there could be something else cooking for MVP candidate Allen.

Spotrac is predicting that Allen might be due a new contract that could double his salary. They write, "Allen has four years and $129.5 million remaining on his contract through 2028, a $32.3 million APY. With top QB contracts now nearly doubling this mark, it stands to reason that the Bills could opt to start fresh with a brand new deal for the 28-year-old."

Chips in our Mike Fisher, the long-time NFL and Dallas Cowboys beat writer: "Dak Prescott's new deal is $60 million per year. That re-sets the bar for everybody. So Allen at age 28 landing an extension of five years worth $300 million? It adds up.''

But first things first. A Super Bowl march is about to begin.

That is the hope, and slaying the Broncos will go a long way to achieving that, and there might be a bit more pressure on Buffalo to finally take advantage of yet another great position it has put itself in for a crack at a Super Bowl.

It's officially go time for the Bills. And then in the offseason? It might be officially go-to-the-negotiating table time.
