Cowboys get massive DeMarvion Overshown injury update after No. 0 jersey reveal

Dallas Cowboys fans have officially emerged victorious in an objectively pointless battle with Jerry Jones. After previously rebuffing DeMarvion Overshown to take No. 0 from Rowdy the mascot, Jones has granted Overshown permission to embrace his famed "Agent 0" moniker.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Overshown is switching to the No. 0 for the 2025 season, and likely the foreseeable future. Overshown is now the first player in the history of the franchise to don the elusive number.

The NFL banned No. 0 back in 1973, but that was rescinded in 2021 along with several other jersey restrictions.

Needless to say Overshown is the perfect candidate to buck the trend. Not only is he a transcendent talent, but he has long identified as "Agent 0" on the field dating back to his time as a Texas Longhorn, where he switched from No. 31 after converting from safety to linebacker.

The Cowboys have been AWOL in free agency the last few weeks so this news was much-needed. While awesome, it doesn't quite compare to the latest update on Overshown's injury.

Per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, Overshown is "progressing well" in his knee rehab and there's optimism within the organization that he could return around the halfway point of the 2025 season.
