Shortly after trading for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens, the Dallas Cowboys announced they are moving on from another wide receiver.
The Cowboys finalized a trade to acquire Pickens in exchange for multiple draft picks. Dallas sent a third-round pick in 2026 and a fifth-round pick in 2027 to Pittsburgh in return for Pickens and a sixth-round pick in 2026.
Pickens, a second-round pick by Pittsburgh in the 2022 NFL Draft, led the Steelers in receiving in 2023 and 2024. Last season, he had 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns despite missing three games.
Soon after making the big trade, the Cowboys announced another roster move, waiving wide receiver Seth Williams.
Williams spent three seasons playing college football for the Auburn Tigers. Through 36 games, the 6-foot-3 wideout from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, tallied 132 catches for 2,124 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Williams spent much of his first season on the Broncos' practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster for Denver's last game that season and subsequently recorded one reception for 34 yards.
He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars to their practice squad in 2022 and 2023 but was waived last August.

Williams was signed by the Cowboys to their practice squad on Oct. 9. He was later signed to a reserve/future contract by Dallas on Jan. 7.
He still has only one career NFL catch.
