Cowboys Make Trade Plans Perfectly Clear Amid Swirling Rumors

The Dallas Cowboys' joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams have been met with worry after Brian Schottenheimer's team wasn't exactly good against Sean McVay and Co.

But again, we stress that it is only practice, and even Schottenheimer stated that he wasn't ever going to delve into the whole playbook, so we can take what we saw a little seriously; however, don't put too much thought into it.

Still, many have jumped to the conclusion that the Cowboys need to make a trade, and more particularly, for a running back among others.

However, owner Jerry Jones, perhaps inadvertently, squashed any potential addition, at least right now.

"Players that I'm looking at for the Dallas Cowboys, if we can continue improvement, which is what these practices are supposed to do, if they can avoid injury, then we should be able to play and open up against Philadelphia with this group that's out here," Jones said.

So there we have it. Another way of saying "we like our guys," and in truth, there is validity to that. However, the level of concern over a couple of joint practices that saw the Cowboys not look too crash hot has led many to want moves to be made.

But it doesn't appear that the Cowboys, at least from Jerry's perspective, are going to entertain a trade, at least soon, and instead, are putting full faith in the group Schottenheimer has.

How the group fares after a couple of preseason games might tilt the scales, but right now, as far as any additions coming to Oxnard, don't hold your breath.
