Cowboys' Micah Parsons Receives Record-Breaking $225 Million Prediction

The Dallas Cowboys are in a very interesting position with star EDGE Micah Parsons, as he's set to play the 2025 season under a fifth-year option, making $24 million and becoming a free agent after the season.

Cowboys' Micah Parsons Receives Record-Breaking $225 Million Prediction

Of course, it's no secret that the Cowboys are interested in retaining the 25-year-old, but there's no doubt that in order to do so, they will need to shell out a massive contract.

In a video posted to the "Bleacher Report" YouTube channel, former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert predicted what kind of deal Parsons should be getting.

“Give me a five-year, $225 million contract… I think Micah Parsons is the best Dallas Cowboys football player, and he deserves to be paid like it, “ Benkert said. “If you can pay Dak Prescott $60 million a year, who is injury prone, you can pay Micah Parsons $45 million a year in his prime."

That deal would make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, in both total value and yearly salary, surpassing San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa ($170 million) and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett ($40 million).

Parsons could prove to be worth the price tag for the Cowboys, though, because in four years he has accumulated 256 tackles, 63 tackles for loss, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, 112 quarterback hits and 177 pressures.

Those numbers have translated into several personal accolades, including four Pro Bowls, First-Team All-Pro twice, and winning Defensive Rookie of the Year back in 2021.

Of course, Parsons will be getting a hefty contract no matter what, but now it remains to be seen if it will be with the Cowboys or if he will test the open market once the season concludes.
