Here Is The Dallas Cowboys Named A Trade Candidate For $60 Million Playmaker, Courtland Sutton This Offseason.
The Dallas Cowboys are named a trade candidate for $60 million playmaker Courtland Sutton this offseason. According to a report, one source says the Broncos could send their best receiver to Dallas in exchange for some draft capital. Sutton has been the subject of trade rumors since implying that he won’t show up to training camp if he doesn’t get the demands he wants. However, Sutton still has two years on his contract after signing an extension in November 2021.
The receiver did mention that he’s only looking for a fair pay raise which shouldn’t be an issue. Other wideouts like CeeDee Lamb, Brandon Aiyuk and Ja’Marr Chase are looking for mega deals. Denver seems to be safe as long as they make some move toward a negotiation. However, the idea that Sutton heads to Dallas opens up the conversation that they were able to go “all in.”
The team has a glaring need at the wideout position after releasing Michael Gallup and still need to extend Lamb. Sutton would fill the No. 2 receiver spot if he ends up in Dallas opposite of Lamb if he returns to the team. No one should imagine that Dallas opens up the season without a new playmaker but the team hasn’t been making any moves to improve their roster. The Cowboys have everything to lose this season as head coach Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott are on the hot seat.
It doesn’t help that Dallas still needs to extend Prescott for a massive contract which they’re hesitating on doing so. The price is only going up for the Cowboys who’ve been taking the cheap route for the past number of years. This could be why a Prescott or Lamb trade could be imminent this summer.

Other Potential Trade Destinations
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have to make some sort of offer to finally get a replacement for Diontae Johnson, right? Pittsburgh has been in the market the entire offseason for a wideout after getting two new solid quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Sutton is still in a standoff with the Broncos so they may as well trade him to the top trade destination. The situation doesn’t get any easier for Pittsburgh as well after attempting to trade for Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf and Aiyuk in this year’s draft.
They need some type of reliability to help alongside George Pickens and Roman Wilson. However, reports are saying the chances of Sutton going to the Steelers are growing. The good news is that it’s more affordable than trading for any other receiver since Sutton is only looking for a raise.
Baltimore Ravens
One report says that the Ravens were close to trading for Courtland Sutton in this year’s draft. No one should forget that they still need a replacement after Odell Beckham Jr’s departure. Sutton is several years younger than Beckham so that’s the biggest upside that the Ravens should pursue. Rashod Bateman is coming back on a contract extension but he hasn’t been the usual No. 2 receiver.
Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews have been running this offense but one injury to this receiving corps could cause disaster. They’re bringing Nelson Agholor but it isn’t up to the potential that Sutton can have. Sutton isn’t No. 1 receiver material but enough to supplement Flowers on the opposite end.
Kansas City Chiefs
Some would expect that the Chiefs would have made a wideout trade by now. However, they’re bringing back Mecole Hardman and they have Marquise Brown as the new duo for Patrick Mahomes. Brown isn’t the type to be a No. 1 wideout since Rashee Rice will miss some time due to off-field issues. They need a youngster to help complement Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are still looking to upgrade at the wideout position despite trading for Johnson. Carolina has been getting the right pieces for Bryce Young’s second year this upcoming fall but they still lack some reliability. Enhancing a supporting cast for Young is crucial to the Panthers’ journey back into playoff contention. Sutton would probably become the new No. 1 receiver as Adam Thielen and Johnson are getting older.
