ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with Dak Prescott being sidelined long-term with a hamstring injury and with Cooper Rush as the new starting QB.

The Cowboys’ slide to 3-6 includes a blowout loss at the hands of the Eagles, a game in which third-string QB Trey Lance was allowed some mop-up duty.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones previewed the game having stated on 105.3 The Fan that Lance could offer "punch" for the offense … but this isn’t exactly the sort of “punch” coach Mike McCarthy had envisioned for Lance

Late in the game, after a turnover, Lance did the right thing in chasing after ball-carrier Eagles DB Reed Blankenship.

In a Cowboys video now going viral via our Mike Fisher on Twitter, Lance is seen crashing into Blankenship … and then the two of them crash into Prescott … who despite his torn-off-the-bone hamstring injury is inexplicably standing in harm’s way on the sideline.

Dak came away unscathed. Lance … not so much. In a bizarre twist, the NFL has fined Lance $22,511 for “unnecessary roughness” on the play, citing an illegal use of the helmet.

We don’t see it at all. But chalk it up to just another weird result in a weird Cowboys season.
