One Dallas Cowboys rookie is hellbent on proving the NFL wrong for allowing him to go undrafted.
New Dallas Cowboys receiver Traeshon Holden isn't coming to The Star to make friends; he's coming to make a statement.
Having been undrafted, which is a blow to the ego of any college prospect, Holden was one of nine undrafted free agents the Cowboys picked up, and he's coming into rookie minicamp with an axe to grind.
Coming off his best-ever college season with Oregon, that saw him post 718 receiving yards, along with five touchdowns, Holden thought he would hear his name called, but it wasn't.
And you can ask any undrafted player, once they step foot into an NFL building, already fighting against the tide to make the roster, there is one mindset, and Holden's sole focus has now been revealed.
"Prove everybody wrong," Holden said via dallascowboys.com. "Everybody. I'm coming for heads. That's it."
That is quite the mentality to have, and we imagine that upon hearing that, head coach Brian Schottenheimer and his coaching staff will be excited to see how Holden goes about his business at The Star.
Not a speed burner, but Holden has the height (6'2) to be a matchup nightmare, and his physicality in the run game as a blocker is something that Schottenheimer will be looking to see develop as camp continues.
With a deep receiver room and one that has a host of players looking to take that next step and become part of the 2025 season, Holden will be on the outside looking in, but with his mentality of taking eveyone's soul, he looms as one player to keep an eye on.
