Things are not going well for the Dallas Cowboys, and that was on full display when Micah Parsons appeared to take shots at Mike McCarthy after their 34-6 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10. Zack Martin inadvertently got roped into the conversation and broke the silence on the odd situation.
After Dallas' latest loss, Parsons said he didn't care if the team won for McCarthy but rather that they won for guys like Martin, who may be playing in his final NFL season. This was perceived as a direct shot at McCarthy, who has been on the hot seat virtually all season long amid the Cowboys struggles.
Martin probably wasn't thrilled to get dragged into the middle of this drama, but that's what happens when you are playing for an underachieving 3-6 team. When asked about the beef between Parsons and McCarthy, Martin attempted to diffuse the situation as much as he possibly could.
"I want to win every week," Martin said on Thursday. "I don't think, if you ask any in this locker room, they wouldn't be saying they're trying to win every week. You play for the guys in the locker room. I think that's kind of what (Parsons) was saying. You want to play for the guys in the locker room that you go to work with every day. That's nothing to change no matter what the circumstances are."
With Dak Prescott out for the rest of the season, the Cowboys are stuck between a rock and a hard place, and unless something miraculous happens, they will miss out on the playoffs this year. If Cooper Rush plays like he did in Week 10 the rest of the way out, they may not win another game this season.
Tensions are beginning to boil over in Dallas, and if they keep on losing, it's only a matter of time until they implode. You can bet Parsons, Martin, and the rest of the team are going to go out and give it their all every time they take the field, though, and they will attempt to bounce back in Week 11 when they take on the Houston Texans.
