Cowboys star puts hatred of Eagles over potential playoff spot

Even though the odds are almost non-existent, the Dallas Cowboys still have a mathematical chance to make the playoffs entering Week 16.

Cowboys star puts hatred of Eagles over potential playoff spot

They must win all their remaining games and receive considerable help from their division rivals.

Enter the Philadelphia Eagles, who must beat the Washington Commanders this Sunday. A Washington win in that game would eliminate Dallas from playoff contention.

However, Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons is not interested in help from the Eagles. On Thursday, he made that point emphatically clear with a vulgar explanation via long-time Cowboys beat writer Clarence E. Hill, Jr.

“Nah, at this point, it’s f--- Philly," Parsons said. "Even if we got eliminated, like, I gotta crush Philly. F--- them. I hate them now. I be seeing them just talking so much on socials. I don’t know, my Twitter page got consumed by Philly [fans]. Man, ugh. They say don’t look forward to some things but I’m excited about the matchup next week, too.”

That is committing to the rivalry above all else. Usually, players begrudgingly cheer for their rival in these situations, but not Parsons. His hatred of the Eagles has grown so strong that he does not care if it eliminates whatever slim playoff hopes his team has remaining if it means Philadelphia loses.

Dallas hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night, and by the time their game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET, they will know if they have any remaining shot of making the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Parsons will surely receive a warm welcome from Eagles fans when the Cowboys visit Philadelphia on Dec. 29.
