Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs has been making his way back from a torn ACL injury he suffered during practice at the start of last season.
And it looks like he's right on schedule.
Diggs posted a beach and field workout video showing off the progress of his knee, which looks just fine.
If you have ever worked out on the beach, then you know your ACLs must be intact to twist and turn like that in the sand.
During mandatory minicamp last month, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said there was no rush in Diggs' return and that the team would be extra cautious.
"We'll respect the timeline, but Trevon looks great," McCarthy told reports. "He goes a little later in the day [with his physical therapy workout]. ...He's in a good spot. ...As far as when he gets back, let's be honest, we're going to be very cautious with those guys. We're not going to put them out there too soon. Better later than too fast."
Other than that, there hasn't been much update on Diggs this offseason, so this video brings plenty of hope that he will be ready to go when the Cowboys report to training camp on July 21.
Diggs Excited to Pair Up with DeRon Bland in 2024
The Cowboys' secondary somehow managed to stay afloat without Diggs last fall as DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore stepped up in his place and helped the team finish the 2023 season allowing the fifth-fewest passing yards per game.
Whenever Diggs does make his full return, however, he is looking forward to lining up opposite Bland in 2024.
"I'm excited, for sure," Diggs said, via the Dallas Morning News. "What he did last year, just to keep it going. It's going to be fun."
Last fall, Bland logged a league-high nine interceptions, including an NFL record of five interceptions returned for a touchdown.
Bland is just as excited to pair up with Diggs.
"A lot of people are not expecting what Tre is gonna come back with," Bland said. "I know what Tre is gonna come back with. It’s going to be something dangerous. Can’t wait."
