Cowboys Tyler Guyton Showing Off Elite Work Ethic Ahead Of 2024 Season

The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for a make-or-break season in 2024. They won the NFC East last year but were shellacked in the Wild Card round by the Green Bay Packers. In the offseason, the team has not done much and the 2024 squad will look much like the 2023 squad. One big area of change is on the offensive line. Eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith is gone and rookie Tyler Guyton is likely to get the spot. He is already showing off his elite work ethic in practice.

Dallas Cowboys Tyler Guyton Impressing Early

The Dallas Cowboys are excited about what Tyler Guyton can bring to the team. They were able to trade down and still get Guyton late in the first round. The rookie out of Oklahoma came into the league with some concerns. While his athleticism is undeniable, there are some questions about his run-blocking and overall balance. Guyton is determined to be a high-quality starter in this league.

Coaches have commented on his positive attitude and commitment to improving. In a recent interview with The Athletic, he was asked about practicing in the Texas heat, and he responded, “I f—ing love it. That’s football, man. That’s the game you signed up for.” This is exactly what the Dallas Cowboys want to see and hear out of their first-round rookie. They need him to contribute right away.

Important Position For Dallas

While the Dallas Cowboys have had their struggles in the past decade, their offensive lines have been elite. The players have changed, but they always seem to have one or two All-Pro caliber players on the line every year. Tyler Guyton is hoping to be the next in a long line of great Cowboys left tackles. The offensive line is key to what the Cowboys want to do under Mike McCarthy.

The offense is all about timing. Dak Prescott and his receivers have to hit their spots at the exact right time for the play to work to perfection. One major part of getting that timing down is protection. If the quarterback is under pressure, the offense cannot operate how it should. Tyler Guyton will most likely have the assignment of blocking some of the best pass-rushers in the league. He’ll need to be ready, or the team could be affected significantly.

Last year, the Dallas Cowboys whiffed on their first round pick. It had an effect on the team. This year they are hoping for the opposite. The early returns on Tyler Guyton are positive. We’ll get a better look at him in training camp when the full team is present.
