Crystal Kung Minkoff recalled being “scared” when Kyle Richards “c[a]me for me” and called her “manipulative” in a past season. She also shared what Kyle told her after mics were removed. Alum Denise Richards then reacted, questioning if her own fights with castmates were designed to “create drama.”
On past seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, both Crystal and Denise had their fair share of onscreen arguments with Kyle, who’s the only remaining star from the original cast. Crystal was fired from the show after three seasons, and Denise quit after two.
“[Kyle and I] had this scene, and she was like, ‘I think you’re manipulative,'” recalled Crystal on her Humble Brag podcast, via @byewighellodrama on Instagram. “And I was like, what? I was so scared.”
“It was about Sutton or something like that. Cause I wasn’t fighting with Kyle … I was fighting with someone else, and [Kyle] was probably defending her and trying to get stuff out of me,” said Crystal. “I didn’t think she was gonna come for me, and then like, I’m so scared.”
But according to Crystal, Kyle quickly changed her tune after cameras went away.
“Then we walk out — you know, you take off your mics — and she’s like, ‘Oh my God! Are you gonna go to Paris this night?’ And I was like … what is happening?” said Crystal. “She was so nice and bubbly all of a sudden. And so for me, every time we were fighting, it felt so … I don’t know if it’s fake.”
Denise agreed that it’s “confusing.”
“I don’t know if they were really upset about stuff [or] were they trying to create drama so that they’re on camera? I have no idea,” said Denise. “And [then they] resolve the fight and find something else to fight about. Because otherwise it gets boring.”
Denise recently returned to Bravo with her spinoff, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, which premiered on Tuesday, March 4. In a preview of the season, Denise was visited by several of her former RHOBH castmates, including Erika Jayne, who she has feuded with for years.
