Cubs ace details excruciating off-the-field chain of events

Starting pitcher Justin Steele had a rough weekend. The southpaw's Chicago Cubs didn't make the playoffs, so Steele had extra time for other activities, like fantasy football and fueling up on coffee.

The 2023 NL All-Star posted on social media on Tuesday, however, that his undefeated run in his hometown fantasy league came to an end surprisingly in Week 5. On top of that, his Ring home security setup showed that a particularly painful coffee spill added injury to insult on a return home.

"First loss in my home league to my 1-3 league mate. Due to him scramble adding tank bigsby and Tucker Kraft..  Followed by spilling coffee on my you know what this morning… sometimes it’s just not your weekend," Steele wrote on X.

The Yahoo Fantasy Sports X account replied to Steele's post, saying that it was the "most relatable tweet of the year."

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby and Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft hadn't done much fantasy-wise through the first four weeks of the season.

Bigsby is his team's backup to Travis Etienne Jr. and recorded nine carries for 99 scoreless yards over the previous three contests. He erupted for 101 rushing yards and two touchdowns (plus a 28-yard reception) on 13 rushing attempts, good for 25.40 fantasy points in half-point PPR formats. Bigsby's performance against the Indianapolis Colts was highlighted by a 65-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter to ice Jacksonville's 37-34 win.

After a slow start to the year, Kraft has picked things up in the last two weeks. The 2023 third-round pick had just six catches for 77 scoreless yards in Weeks 1-3 before posting half a dozen receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown in Week 4. On Sunday, Kraft helped lead the Packers to a 24-19 win vs. the Los Angeles Rams by registering four catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns, equaling 22.80 fantasy points in half-point PPR formats.

Steele didn't reveal who's on his roster on X, but he should still be in good shape at 4-1. Now, he'll have to worry about being more careful with his coffee.
