Dallas Cowboys Are Predicted To Land An Amazing College Coach To Replace Mike McCarthy

Dallas Cowboys fans can not wait to close the book on the 2024 season after their horrible 3-6 record to start the year, and many of them are waiting for Jerry Jones to fire head coach Mike McCarthy.

There were many rumors last offseason that McCarthy would be fired after their brutal home playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round, but the organization decided to give him one more season.

There is no way the 61-year-old head coach will be on the Cowboys sideline in 2025, and knowing Jones, he will want to make a crazy splash for his new head coach.A report dropped this week from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said that Oregon’s head coach, Dan Lanning, has been mentioned around the NFL for the last few weeks as a name that could be in the 2025 head coaching cycle.

Lanning is an upcoming coach in the sport and is only in his third season as the head coach at Oregon. He is building a winning culture, so there is a great chance he will stay with the Ducks, but if he doesn’t, the Cowboys could be the team that lands him.

Dan Lanning Could Be Heading To The Dallas Cowboys

Scott Barrett from Fantasy Points posted his 2025 NFL head coaching hiring predictions on X and has the Cowboys landing Lanning.

Seeing Lanning head to Dallas would be awesome, and the Cowboys should do everything they can to land the 38-year-old head coach.

Lanning is a winner and has coached both under Nick Saban and Kirby Smart, so the Cowboys would be getting a guy who knows what it takes to win every time you step onto the field.

It stinks that College football could be losing a great coach, but seeing him in Dallas would be fun to watch.
