FRISCO - As the quarterback of "America's Team,'' Dak Prescott is very much in the spotlight, with the Dallas Cowboys star in the news for everything from his on-field performance to his new contract, which pays him $60 million per year.
But over the course of his nine years in DFW, Prescott has also become an integral leader in the community, and he and his "Faith Fight Finish Foundation'' just put that priority on display.
Dak's foundation just sent over a reported $1.8 million in supplies to Florida victims of Hurricane Milton. The shipments include diapers, baby formula, hygiene products and much more.
The Cowboys quarterback started the foundation as a way to empower individuals, families and communities in difficult times - to "find strength through adversity,'' as the foundation website phrases it.
The Faith Fight Finish Foundation by Dak was also established in part as a tribute to Dak’s Mom, Peggy, who lost her battle with colon cancer in 2013. The foundation's word is also meant to honor the memory of Dak’s brother, Jace, who was lost to suicide in 2020.
When it comes to NFL fans and Cowboys Nation, few things are "bigger than football.'' Dallas is presently 3-3 and prepping for "Sunday Night Football'' at the 49ers, no doubt a major event. But Dak Prescott's devotion to something even bigger is among the reasons he won NFL "Man of the Year'' and should ideally be an inspiration to the rest of us.
