Dallas Cowboys player with 0 competitive snaps says he is faster and stronger ahead of 2024 season

The Dallas Cowboys have begun their early preparations for the upcoming 2024 season and one player is confident he can bounce back.

Cowboys 2024 schedule release: Preview, key notes

America’s Team is encroaching on a huge year for the franchise as a whole. Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott’s futures look skeptical, so the team is going to be as relied upon as ever to deliver.

Jerry Jones is angered by their lack of postseason success which can be traced back to 1996, the start of a 29-year NFC Championship appearance drought.

Dallas front office opts not to sign a swarm of free agents as big contracts need to be negotiated
Key players Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb are eager to sign a new contract with the franchise and both are set to earn record-breaking deals.

Therefore, the front office has steered away from a shopping spree in free agency and will direct the money towards their invaluable assets.

Moreover, the lack of spending in free agency means there will be greater emphasis on the current roster of stars to move up a gear.

The Dallas Cowboys will be excited about the return of one player who has not even played one competitive snap in his NFL career.

DeMarvion Overshown will be desperate to finally take to the NFL field
DeMarvion Overshown is hopeful of not running into further preseason trouble as he rehabilitates for his sophomore season.

Unfortunately, the 23-year-old linebacker tore his ACL during a preseason matchup against the Seattle Seahawks in 2023.

The promising Dallas third-rounder was set to be a key starter for the team and his presence was undoubtedly missed.

America’s Team suffered an injury crisis in their linebacker department and was forced to play safety Markquese Bell in an unnatural position.

Overshown believes he is in the best shape and feels ‘so much stronger’
Overshown is desperate to make a return, in what will feel like his rookie year after not registering a competitive play in the NFL.

However, his rehabilitation has been excellent and he looks good, alongside fellow ACL injured teammate, Trevon Diggs, to make a much-needed comeback.

“I feel so much more powerful. I’m so much stronger. I feel like I have gotten faster,” Overshown explained to Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill.

“I feel and look like a linebacker now… I got my frame and I’m ready to get out there. People ain’t seen me this big.”

The Cowboys star has been packing on the size during his rehab program and was desperate to keep his shape.

Many players can lose key muscle mass when suffering an injury, but Overshown is confident he is in his best shape.
