Damian Lillard was on the verge of joining title contenders before Portland return

After two years with the Milwaukee Bucks, Lillard returned to the Portland Trail Blazers on a three-year deal whilst he's rehabbing from Achilles tear.

Lillard was close to join some other notable teams though, more closely, Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Instead, Damian Lillard returned to a Trail Blazers team that he spent the first 11 years of his career with.

The Celtics may have missed out on him, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort, as Shams Charania of ESPN reported that the nine-time All-Star was seriously considering signing with Boston.

"Over a dozen teams made minimum and midlevel exception offers to Damian Lillard," Charania said on "NBA Today."

"Two teams in particular I’m told that Damian Lillard really considered, and that’s the Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He held calls with both teams at different points."

Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade kept most of their core from 2024-25 season.

That is not an exception for a trio of foreign players that had an NBA exit clause in their contracts, per Mozzart Sport.

Carlik Jones, Isaac Bonga, Frank Ntilikina and Duane Washington had NBA clauses in their deals.

All four of mentioned players have established contracts for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

NBA clauses were active and proposed a €300k buyout to Partizan, and whilst it is still possible for any of them to go to NBA, now Partizan has everything in their hands and can propose a buyout that they want.
