Dan Quinn Vows Commanders Will 'Get Up Swinging' After Eagles Loss

The Washington Commanders' feel-good story fell one game short of being spectacular with a 55-23 defeat in the NFC Championship game to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dan Quinn Vows Commanders Will 'Get Up Swinging' After Eagles Loss

After being a four-win team in 2023, to then winning 12 regular season games, plus two in the playoffs, under Dan Quinn, this team is on the right track.

Built on brotherhood, a love for one another, and a relentless work ethic, the Commanders outperformed everyone's expectations in Quinn's first season.

And while Washington got curb-stomped by the Eagles in the biggest game of the season, you can bet they'll be back bigger and better next season.

“Our team has a lot going for it,” Quinn said. “They've got brotherhood and toughness and work ethic, and there's just one thing we didn't have, and we just got it [vs. Eagles] and those are scars. You can't get them when you first huddle up and you got to earn them, and as sure as hell don't want to, but you do need them to grow. You truly don't know who you are until you get your ass knocked down and see how you get back up. If I know anything about our team, they will absolutely get up swinging.”

Quinn's team never backed down from a challenge and often came through in what he called "winning time moments." Washington had the uncanny ability to win one-score games, thanks in part to rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.

But the Eagles' loss will be sobering and a stark reminder that despite the Commanders' showing a lot of improvement, there is a long way to go if they are to reach Philadelphia's level.

Washington will take a break and reflect on a successful season, and when preseason rolls around, they'll be ready to rock.

And if Quinn has anything to say about it, they'll be swinging for the fences in 2025.
