D’Andre Swift had the best year of his career last season in his lone season with the Philadelphia Eagles and was able to parlay it into a hefty 3-year, $24 million deal with the Chicago Bears in free agency.
Swift will step in as the featured back in what should be one of the league’s most improved offenses, and he might already have one game circled on the calendar for next season where he will get to face his former team.
Around The NFL shared an article from NFL.com that provided insight into Swift getting to face the Detroit Lions for the first time this season, and he said the Lions are “Another team. That’s how I’m going to look at it. I ain’t going to say too much about it. It’s just another team, that’s all.”
This was not the spicy response this reporter clearly wanted, as Swift definitely paid attention during his PR training and took the highest of all the high roads.
Swift may have said the right thing, but now that he gets to face the Lions twice a year after they traded him to the Eagles last offseason, the revenge game is still in play.
As a competitor, it’s hard to believe Swift isn’t at least a little excited about getting to stick it to the Lions twice.
Swift struggled to stay healthy during his three years in Detroit but was able to go for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns last season with the Eagles.
There is so much to be excited about with this Bears offense, even if Swift is acting like a couple of games a year aren’t a big deal.
